Just as we thought the year couldn't get any better, it was an incredible surprise to find out that David Scott has been shortlisted in the Local Hero category of the Scottish Sports Awards.
He is up against stiff competition, with the other finalists being Gary McLaughlin, who introduced walking football to Scotland, and Fraser Johnston, who leads the 150 strong Falkirk Junior Bike Club.
Whatever happens, it is going to be an amazing night in Glasgow on 5th December, mingling with the likes of Andy and Jamie Murray, Laura Muir and Katie Archibald.
